Here I go....
Everyone seems to be blogging these days and I have always liked the idea of of it but have never known what to write about, until now....
I have a huge passion for exercise and healthy eating and I will talk about it to anyone who will listen, so I thought blogging would be the perfect opportunity to do this.
I have been a gym go-er since I was 17 but I was always one of these girls that would be doing a fast walk/light jog on the treadmill for 30 minutes then 20 minutes on the cross trainer on level 2 or 3 barely breaking into a sweat and at the end of it think I had had a great workout and go home and treat myself to a jacket potato slathered in cheese and coleslaw because I thought that was 'healthy'.
Anyway, after having my first child I got back into the gym in September 2010 my workouts were still similar to before but results were still slow. I began to take part in some spin classes which were a killer! But that fact I did not want to walk out half way through in front of everyone meant I stuck with it, 45 minutes of pure hell. Eventually the weight started to come off and then....
I WAS PREGNANT AGAIN!
We had planned Evie but I hadn't thought about the fact I would be turning into a whale again. After a bit of research I discovered it would be great for me to continue working out during pregnancy and it is fine to continue at the level you were at pre-pregnancy and obviously go a bit easier on yourself towards the end.
I continued with a couple of spin classes a week and was amazed to discover I had gained no extra weight (apart from the weight of baby). After birth there is no exercising for 6 whole weeks so being at home 24/7 with a new baby the biscuit tin was out of the cupboard a lot, slowly I gained a little weight I started to feel un happy with my body, so after the 6 weeks was up I grabbed my gym buddy and back to the gym I went.......
Millie is my best and one of my oldest friend she a great gym buddy because all though we get to have a good gossip and catch up theres no slacking.
This time around instead of our lengthy chats whilst fast walk/jogging on the treadmill for an hour she was over by the weights on the BOYS side of the gym! She must have been doing something right because she was looking amazing, and this is when I discovered weight training...................
